Storage Cases for Poker Chips

We can buy as few as 50 poker chips to as many as 500 chips to maximize our poker playing pleasure at home. But regardless of how many chips we buy at once or have accumulated over the years, we all know that proper storage is the key to keeping it arranged and in good playing shape. Not to mention that chip weight must also be taken into consideration to complement suitable storage. That's why it's important to have the right storage cases for your poker chips that will directly address your needs spot on.

Categories that fall under poker chip cases are wood boxes, travel cases, and carousels. The most used material in producing these cases is wood like walnut, maple, cherry, oak, or a combination, to name a few. And there are plastic, acrylic, and aluminum cases as well.

Wood boxes would have removable chip trays or racks inside that are used to organize poker chips. They may come in a slim size that can hold 100-250 chips or a wider size to hold as much as 500 chips or more. These can also come with locks and a handle like travel cases but are undoubtedly sturdier and can accommodate a variety of chip sizes rather than just one that's fitting to a specific travel case. And as opposed to travel cases, these boxes are more for show with their sleek and classy design than for transport.

Travel cases, on the other hand, have hollowed spaces built inside to store the chips. That's why travel cases are often used to carry poker sets where chips fit snuggly in their respective spaces. They look like briefcases on the outside to give a more discreet representation of what's actually inside.

Carousels are not discreet like travel cases and are less formal than wood boxes. It is wide and round and sometimes comes with a brass handle for easy hauling. What's distinct about poker chip carousels is that chips are organized in individual slots around the inside of the case. And there are slots for two card decks in the middle of these carousels.

If you're looking to show off your poker chip cases, wood boxes and carousels are a good choice. Since one can't really have enough poker chips, investing in a wood case is very wise since you only need buy racks or trays to house more chips inside. But if you're looking to be discreet with your storage cases and you have no use for a lot of room, travel cases are a suitable choice.
