Who's Who at the Poker Hall of Fame

The Binion's Horseshoe, since 1979, has compiled a list of poker players who are deemed to be the "poker legends" of the year. This list is called the "Poker Hall of Fame". A gambler's name, to be placed in the Hall of Fame, should meet the Binion's stringent criteria. And these are:

- The poker player must have played and won in a famous competition or tournament

- The poker player must have played for high stakes

- The poker player must have exhibited superior skills and mastery of the game, which earned the respect of his colleagues

- The poker player's reputation must have withstood the "test of time"

Based on the above standards, the Binion's Horseshoe came up with the following names:

- Felton "Corky" McCorquodale - a no-limit gambler who, in 1963, introduced Texas Hold'em to Las Vegas

- Johnny Moss - the three-time champion (1970, 1971, and 1974) of the world no-limit Texas Hold'em

- Red Winn - the perfect embodiment of a versatile poker player

- Sid Wyman - a high-stakes poker player who is also a businessman who co-owned several gaming establishments, such as the Sands, Riviera, and the Dunes

- Nick "the Greek" Dandolos - gained fame his for millions of dollars bets in Las Vegas

- Edmond Hoyle - considered the ultimate authority of card games, his ideas were the basis on which players used to settle disputes about gaming rules.

- James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok - a scout, a marshal, and a sharpshooter, his legendary name became more famous when he was shot in the back while playing poker.

- T. "Blondie" Forbes - a road gambler who is considered a master of poker

- Bill Boyd - taking several championships from the World Series of poker, he is considered as the greatest five-card stud player.

- Tom Abdo - a dedicated poker player who suffered a heart attack at a poker table. He died with the intention of returning to his game.

- Joe Bernstein - a "dapper dresser", he is also an opponent to fear at the poker table.

- Murph Harrold - the unbeatable poker player of the deuce-to-seven draw

- Red Hodges - the ultimate master of the seven-card stud

- Henry Green - a versatile player of many poker variants who is also known for his cool temper

- Walter Clyde "Puggy" Pearson - sporting a cigar, he wins poker games based not only on his skill but also on his aggressiveness and volatile temper

- Doyle Brunson - the first player who won $1 million in a tournament

- Jack "Treetop" Straus - a six-footer who is considered as the most imaginative of all poker players.

- Fred "Sarge" Ferris - he became notorious when the IRS grabbed his chips which are worth $46,000

- Benny Binion - a cowboy who began the World Series of Poker

- David Edward "Chip" Reese - with nerves of steel, he is the best high-stakes player in all poker games

- Thomas Austin "Amarillo Slim" Preston - made the WSOP famous by being in TV talk shows after he won the championship in 1972

- Jack Keller - a player who has the record of the most consistent high-level performance

- Julius Oral "Little Man" Popwell - he went up against great poker players such as Moss and Green

- Roger Moore - Since 1974, he never missed the annual WSOP, and even went up against Moss, Straus, Keller, and Pearson.

- Stu Ungar - considered as the greatest no-limit Hold'em poker player.

- Lyle Berman - he doesn't play many tournaments, but each time he does, he usually wins. He is a three-time winner of the WSOP

- Johnny Chan - he took two consecutive championships of the World Series in 1987 and 1988, and gained appeared in the movie "Rounders"

- Berry Johnston - the 1986 WSOP champion

- Jack Binion - revolutionized the casino industry

- Crandell Addington - a world poker ambassador who is also a no-limit Hold'em legend
