Losing in Poker

Want to lose in poker? It is simple. There are a lot of things you can do to lose games in poker. One of these things is re-raising bad hands. This poker strategy is brave and stupid at the same time. This is how raising in poker works: a player raises because he either has a good poker hand or want other poker players to believe that he indeed has a good hand. If another player re-raises, then that means that he or she has a better hand than the first one who made a raise. If you do this, you are in a poker dilemma. If the first one who rose really has a good hand, then he will challenge you and eventually win the pot since you have a good hand. It is rare that poker players will believe someone who re-raises. For them, it's nothing but a desperate way to bluff.

Another thing you could to lose in poker is to depend in the gut shots more often than not. Gut shots in poker are called as such because you need to have lots of guts to play them. They are the hands who need a particular card, usually found at the river, to win. For example, you have a hand of 6 and 8, then, the flop and the turn gave you 9, 10 and ace. At this point, you have a possible poker straight, and winning depends on the river now. You have a little possibility of getting that seven and worse, your poker opponents have already gained a pair of ace. Even if the river gives you a pair, it will be nothing compared to pocket aces.

Another way to lose in poker is to play your small pairs too much. If you want to play your pre-flop pair of 5's, then you better raise a big bet to scare your poker opponents. You have to do this as soon as possible because if you let them into the community cards, chances are, you will lose.

Counting on your backdoor flushes too many times is also a way to lose a poker game. This is similar to gut shots, but more problematic because you need a suited turn and river to win. Obviously, this is a poker long shot.

In all of the mentioned above poker boo-boos, luck is a factor. People depend on luck in poker more often than they ought to. People resort to wishing instead of thinking about their poker strategy.
